This was a great alternative to meat! My husband and I love this recipe. I’ve made it many times through the years.

These were filling, and the flavors were exactly what you'd want from a cheesesteak. And yet…I couldn't help but think "These would be better if there was meat in them." The moisture of the mushrooms made the texture a bit mushy the longer the sandwiches sat, which only made me miss the meat more.
