Pork in Creamy Onion and Saffron Sauce

Pork chuck steaks find their ideal form in this delicious creamy stew. Cooked in just one pot, this creamy stew features button mushrooms, onions, and the unique flavor of saffron. Slow-cooked, this stew needs a lot of time, but the pork ends up perfectly tender and beautifully flavored. While cooking, feel free to get some household chores or work done, or put up your feet and grab a book. Make sure you have plenty of bread for dipping in the leftover sauce. Garnish with additional saffron for an elegant finish.
Ingredients
- 1 pinch saffron
- 50 grams butter (high quality)
- 3 white onions (large, finely sliced in rings)
- chuck steak (800 gr.–1 kl. pork, diced)
- 1 stock (meat, cube)
- ground black pepper (Freshly)
- 200 grams button mushrooms (whole)
- 4 Tbsp. cream (thick)
Directions
- Place the saffron in glass with 2 tsp. warm water and leave to infuse.
- Heat the butter in a large heavy pan.
- Add the pork to the pan and saute.
