- 6 fresh basil leaves (and extra for serving – ripped)
- pinches sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 lb. pasta (your favorite, prepared as directed with well salted water)
