Description

With a recipe that doesn't take too long to prepare, these yeasted breadsticks made with appl-purpose flour, brewer's yeast and barley are kneaded for about 10 minutes and only need an hour to rise. Before they're placed in the oven, the breadsticks are sprinkled with poppy seeds, the addition of which add visual interest and a textural "pop." Serve them warm with butter that's showered with flaky sea salt.

  • 8 grams yeast (brewer’s)
  • 5 grams salt
  • 25 grams extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1/2 barley (level tsp. malt)

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 190C.
    2. Place the flour on a work surface and make a well in the center.
    3. Add the water, yeast, salt, and oil in the well and knead for approximately 8 to 10 minutes. The dough should not be too soft.
