A real crowd pleaser, but I made some changes: (1) I used lamb instead of beef, (2) I added two teaspoons of Persian spice, from the wonderful Sadaf company (called Baharat Seasoning), (3) I used about 1/2 of the beef broth called for, and (4) added a cup of instant brown rice. (3) and (4) were because otherwise the result was far too liquidy. Switching to lamb and adding the Baharat seasoning was a big improvement.
