I've made this soup more than a dozen times, and each time the family loves it so much that there are no leftovers!

my family really enjoyed this soup. i used more potatoes than the recipe called for and my kids asked me to use less celery next time😂 i also think i should have added more salt and pepper

I made it exactly like the recipe with a Cajun mixed spice. It was super good! Definitely will make again. It makes a ton though so not great if it’s just for one or two people. Use the biggest pot you’ve got!

The soups smell fills the air of autumn and gives a tasteful reminder of when you were a kid smelling all the foods cooking during thanksgiving and Christmas. I follow the the recipe to the word The only changes I make is adding Cajun to taste I buy the thick cut most expensive bacon I can get Extra bacon ( in half’s or thirds) to dip and bite on the side And to top it off boars head gouda cheese (lots of if, about 1/4-1/3 cup per bowl)

It was very good. The recipe is easy to follow. I used one cup of whole milk instead of heavy cream and cayenne pepper instead of cajun spices.

Delicious soup! I used red potatoes (because I needed to use them up) and half and half for the milk/cream combination (because that’s what I had on hand). No matter; this recipe is delicious and family approved!

It was delicious, had my in-laws over lunch and this was definitely a hit everyone loved it. I didn’t blend the soup in a blender because I let my potatoes cook longer so they were the consistency we liked. I also doubled the flour and milk mixture, I also used evaporated milk instead of jug milk.

Not bad flavors but way too liquidy. Either add potatoes or reduce broth to 6 cups instead of 8. Or do both. I did not want to add more flour because I did not want a floury taste. I used an immersion blender. Ended up adding 3 more potatoes mashed and some garlic mashed potato flakes to get the consistency and taste right for me. I think I need to try other recipes.

Great flavor. Missed the 5 stars because I used the “hot” setting instead of the lowest setting as suggested. My soup came out gummy. I used the same blend tech blender pictured. Still a big hit.

Great! I might add another potatoe next time or less broth. My hubby wanted more chunkiness to soup. I was pleased with it.
