- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 shallot (minced)

- 1 Bartlett Pear (or ripe Bosc, thinly sliced lengthwise, stem and seeds removed)
- 1/4 cup dried cherries (or cranberries, though cherries are best!)
