- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram (dried)
- 15 oz. red kidney beans (can dark, drained and rinsed)
- 15 oz. great northern beans (can ,drained and rinsed)

This is a delicious recipe. Never would have thought about the sugar, but is at the top of my list for a go-to soup.

We absolutely love this recipe for Pasta e Fagioli. I pretty much followed the recipe. I did substitute light red kidney beans for the dark red and canneloni beans for the great northern beans, just personal preference. I also add a half pound of Italian sausage. I add the cooked pasta as needed. I add the pasta when it's time to eat the leftovers.
