- 1/2 lb. extra-wide egg noodles
- 2 lb. boneless skinless chicken (dark or white meat, or 2 bags Morning Star Chik'n Stips for veggie version)
- salt
- pepper
- 1 onions (large, quartered lengthwise then thinly sliced)
- 2 red bell pepper (seeded, quartered lengthwise and thinly sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 sweet paprika (round tablespoons ground, a couple of palmfuls)
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice (eyeball the amount in your palm)
- 2 cups chicken stock (or veggie broth for vegetarian version)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. butter (cut into small pieces)
- 3 Tbsp. fresh dill (finely chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives
- 1/4 cup cornichons (chopped, or baby Gherkin pickles)
