- 1/4 tsp. fennel seeds (saunf)
- 1/4 tsp. whole black pepper (sabut kali mirch)
- 20 fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- 4 red chillies (kashmiri, or byadagi red chillies)
- 2 red chillies (guntur, or hot red chillies)
- 3 garlic cloves (medium, lahsun)
- 1 tsp. tamarind (tightly packed, imli, seeds removed)
- 6 Tbsp. water (for grinding)
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. curd (fresh, dahi or yogurt)
- 200 grams paneer (cottage cheese - cut in cubes)
- salt (as required)
- 2 Tbsp. ghee
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 12 curry leaves (kadi patta - kept whole or roughly chopped)
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp. jaggery (powder or add as required)
- salt (as required)
