- 1 tsp. coconut oil (plus sea salt, for baking)
- 3 medjool dates (pitted and soaked in very hot water for 5 minutes to soften)
- 1/4 cup water (you can use the soaking water plus more if you need)
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 cup tomato sauce (no salt added)
- 3 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar (preferably raw apple cider vinegar)
- 1 Tbsp. coconut aminos
- 1 tsp. spicy brown mustard
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika (or paprika)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. ground beef (80-85 % lean)
- 1/2 Tbsp. cooking fat
- 1/2 green bell pepper (diced)
- 1/2 red bell pepper (diced)
- 1/2 onion (medium, chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- sea salt (to sprinkle on beef about 1/4 tsp)
