- 1 stalk celery (large)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 lb. beef bottom round steaks
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil (plus more as needed)
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes (28 oz. per can)
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- mashed potatoes (optional, for serving)

- Preheat the oven to 275°F.
