- 400 mL water (1 + 2/3 cups)
- 320 mL unsweetened almond milk (1 1/3 cups ,or other plant milk)
- 3 oranges (finely grated zest of)
- 100 mL freshly squeezed orange juice (1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp)
- 100 mL light olive oil (1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp)
- 160 grams caster sugar (3/4 cup)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 185 grams ground almonds (1 1/2 cups)
- 225 grams all-purpose plain flour (1 3/4 cups + 2 Tbsp)
- 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 150 grams dark chocolate (5.3 oz ,70% cocoa solids chopped)
- 150 grams dairy free butter (1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp, /margarine, the kind in a stick rather than a tub is best - I use Stork)
- 150 grams vegetable shortening (3/4 cup ,I used Trex)
- 50 grams cocoa powder (1/3 cup ,sifted)
- 300 grams icing sugar (2 1/3 cups ,powdered ,sifted)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. orange extract (optional)
- 50 grams dark chocolate (2 oz ,chopped)
- 10 grams coconut oil (2 tsp)
