- 2/3 cup nonfat buttermilk (or lowfat)
- 2 tsp. fresh thyme (finely chopped, plus more for garnish)
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. nigella seeds (kalonji)
- 1 tsp. black pepper (freshly crushed)
- 1 onion (small, sliced into approx. 1/8 inch slices, 6 or 8 slices depending on how tall the biscuit is)
- milk (for brushing tops)
