  • 1 pound smoked sausage (sliced, like Johnsonville smoked turkey or chicken/pork Just over $2 at my Winco)
  • 1 cup onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (to cut a little salt, I used 1½ cups of broth and ½ cup water)
  • 14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes (petite, do not drain)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dry pasta (Bow-tie is hearty and fun, but we actually liked rotini better the last time I made this)
