  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 3/4 cups pasta sauce (jarred)
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms (chopped, optional)
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 4 ounces small pasta (choice)
  • shaved Parmesan cheese
  • chopped parsley

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a large saucepan on high heat. Add onion and sauté for 2-3 mins, until tender.
    2. Add ground beef. Brown well, breaking up with the back of a spoon as it browns. Stir in pasta sauce, mushrooms, wine and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil.
    3. Reduce heat to low. Stir in pasta. Simmer for 15-20 mins, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Season to taste. Serve immediately, sprinkled with parsley and Parmesan cheese.
