    Very testy dish but I think the water was a bit much because the rice was very soft, I would have preferred it to be a bit hard. Also, the timing wasn’t calculated correctly, it was more than 55 mins. It looked like I was waiting forever. Overall, it was delicious.

    this recipe was GREAT!!! I added half the turmeric that it asked for the chicken because it seemed excessive. I also added bell pepper and mushrooms with the onions and rice. the chicken was moist and twnder with crispy skin!I also just used more chicken broth instead of adding the water. i saw alot of negative reviews but mine was a HIT! I will say ADDING GREEK YOGURT ON TOP MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!! The yogurt helps bring all thise flavors together and enhances them! So delicous!!!!!

    Every part of the recipe is spot on...besides flavor. It’s lacking *something.* Something that makes it pop. The flavor just falls flat. And it could use more heat for sure. Lacks spice. Use WAY less tumeric. My granite countertops, stainless steel sink, and even my hands are still yellow stained from last night.

    Very messy to make. Would definitely use less turmeric, and possibly add sumac and saffron for more flavor if available. I’d also try adding some carrots and cauliflower to incorporate some veggies.

    I followed the instructions exactly and the meal turned out beautifully. The rice was light and full of flavor, and the chicken was moist and easily shredded. I marinated the chicken overnight for the most flavor, and we used the recommendation of plain Greek yogurt as a perfect compliment to the spices.

    I have made this dish three times. I doubled the recipe and added a bit more liquid, cut down on the tumeric. My family loves this dish especially the children. So much flavour.

    Delicious! I’m a relative beginner and I made this with no problem (although it took me much longer than 55 minutes.) I topped it off with a yogurt dressing and WOW.

    This recipe was okay. I thought it was going to have more flavour (the rice turned out flavourful but not the chicken). My son liked it though, which means dinner was overall a success.

    Turned out good! Should have listened to the advice to cut tumeric by half. Used chicken breasts instead of thighs and adjusted the cooking method a little to fit and still worked out well.

    The chicken came out really delicious - even my 16 month old son liked it! My only complaint is that the rice was still hard even after I gave it more time, then more liquid, then lid back on, then lid off. Not sure what happened, but it sadly ended up in the trash.

    Tried it tonight. It was a bit one note but had potential so I added golden raisins and capers and let it steam all together on top of the stove top for 5 minutes before serving. Even my husband agreed that it was better with lemon juice squeezed over top. 'Cripes!' I forgot the parsley and I have a whole bunch in fridge to use up. Would double amount of chicken or halve rice. And adding a green or sauteed peppers and mushrooms would work too.

    Loved this! Prepared it bit differently, though, not using the oven at all. Seared chicken in a pot, removed it, sautéed onion and steamed collard greens, and then added rice separately cooked in a rice cooker with chicken stock and spices. Also added a dash of cinnamon, and next time I will add some toasted sliced almonds!

    Bitter and inedible. I followed the directions to the letter. I scraped out the burnt bits after browning the chicken, I scraped out the burnt bits after browning the chicken, so that couldn't have been the problem. I thought 3 T. of turmeric and over 1 T of cumin seemed excessive, and I'm guessing that was the problem. Interestingly, in spite of the sodium in the chicken broth and adding salt to the chicken as well as the rice, it was still quite bland. If I were to make it again (and I doubt I will!) I would drastically reduce the turmeric and cumin and add more salt.

    I made this dish twice this week for 2 different clients and both LOVED it!!! Both the chicken and the rice were AMAZING with such depth of flavor. I substituted chicken broth for the water when making the rice for a bit more flavor. This dish is definitely one of the best recipes I've come across in a while!

    Thus dish was so amazing and flavorful. It is one on my favorite dishes to make!!! Sometimes i remove the turmeric because it stains so bad.

    This was delicious. The grilled lemons really added a punch to the rice that I really liked. I ended up cutting them up and spreading them around- until I tried this recipe I didn't even know you could eat the rind like that, but the grilling process made them extra soft.
