- 2 cups whole wheat white flour (or half whole wheat and half all purpose)
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted and cooled slightly)
- 2 Tbsp. candied ginger (finely chopped, or crystallized ginger, plus more for serving, I use this brand)
- powdered sugar (optional)
