- 1 celery (large or two small ribs, sliced, 1/8" - ¼" thick, or as you like)
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
- 1 jar sliced mushrooms (6 oz. /dry wt, well drained,, or use 8 oz. fresh; slice, and sauté with butter, celery and onions)
- 12 oz. tuna (well drained)
- 1/3 cup peas (frozen sweet baby, unthawed)
- 2 cups shredded swiss cheese (divided)
- 4 cups egg noodles (uncooked, cooked al dente and drained well)
- 1 cup potato chips (crushed hearty, such as Ruffles)
- 1 can water (sliced chestnuts, drained and coarsely chopped)
- 1 jar peppers (chopped pimiento, drained well, *if using, fold in gently very last)
