Description

Enjoy the sweetness of nectarines and oranges with any meal. To make this recipe, you’ll need some canning jars and lids, along with a large pot to boil the jars in. You’ll get enough to last for several months. Best when used on hot bread or rolls.

  • 1.25 kilograms nectarines (peeled, pitted, and chopped)
  • 625 grams sugar
  • 1 orange
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 stick cinnamon

    Directions

    1. Boil the jars and lids for 30 minutes to sterilize and then wipe dry with a clean cloth.
    2. Place the fruit and sugar in a saucepan along with the orange juice, rind, cinnamon, and ginger. Cook on medium heat until the fruit releases its juices and the mixture begins to thicken and caramelize, after approximately 1 hour.
    3. Carefully fill the jars with the marmalade and close tightly. Place into a large pot, and boil for 30 minutes to seal.
