This has to be the best chocolate cake I have ever had. I've made it twice in a week and everyone who tried some loved it! I'm a tea drinker so I don't have a coffee maker. I used Starbucks instant coffee instead of a "fresh, brewed coffee" and added some of the instant coffee to the frosting. I also used vanilla essence that I get from Haiti when I go on my mission trips there instead of vanilla extract.
If you want to frost the outside, the frosting recipe listed will make enough frosting to cover the entire cake plus between the layers. No need to double the frosting recipe to make this cake not naked.
