  • 10 ounces rotel (original diced tomatoes and green chilies)
  • 8 ounces rotel (zesty tomato and green chili sauce, or tomato sauce of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Gebhardt Chili Powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika (optional)

    Used some extra cayenne in it and hatch red Chile powder. Nice and spicy

    I've been searching for a Texas chili recipe for a while that was from scratch and not a kit ... this is it ... excellent. Used chili ground beef this time but will try venison next time and maybe a scorpion pepper or two to kick it up a notch. also, i cut the recipe into thirds and it still came out excellent.
