Wow! This turned out exactly like MY Grandma’s Shoo-Fly pie. making this the recipe I’ve hunted for over all the years since her death. I’m 71 now, and a grandma myself, and delighted to have this authentic recipe in my collection. I used two small pie pans and divided the molasses mixture between the two, aware it would overflow if made in one. But you could easily make your pie in one large (9 inch) pie pan by being aware not to overfill it. This recipe results in the delicious gooey bottom that is the sign of the real Shoo-Fly pie.
