Good texture that simulated a meat loaf. Liked the fact it wasn’t the smooth, over processed mock meat that can be seen in the likes of tofurky. Since I find it a bit dry on its own I add homemade mushroom gravy. I’ve used this recipe several times and instead of the oven which we find makes the loaf quite dry, I steam it in the InstantPot for 15 minutes.

100% moist and tender just as written! I hand chopped the mushroom and just stirred together the liquids!! A great deal better than other seitan roasts I have tried😉

Really good. Meat eating husband and picky 6 year old ate it the first night and as leftovers, although the 10 YO refused. Great with gravy and potatoes. 2nd time I made it I added 1/3 cup puréed carrots without any noticeable change. 2020 update - Neither kid liked it, but adults still did. Maybe try removing sage and subbing porcini powder for a lux version?
