- 750 grams chicken (I used chicken drumsticks and chicken thighs, you can also use boneless chicken breast)
- 3/4 cup yogurt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. chilli powder (kashmiri, Its very mild and gives a glorious red color to the tandoori)
- 3 Tbsp. coriander leaves
- 2 green chillies
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic paste (ginger-)
- 2 Tbsp. tandoori masala (powder, I used store bought tandoori masala)
- salt (as per taste)
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 8 tomatoes (large ripe, red juicy, finely chopped, you can also use canned plum tomatoes)
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- 1 black cardamom
- 4 green cardamom
- 3 cloves
- 1 1/2 inches cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste
- 12 cashewnuts (ground into paste)
- 12 almonds (skinned and ground into paste)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. honey (or sugar, you can adjust the amount of sugar or honey as per your taste)
- 1/4 cup cream (i used half and half)
- 1/2 tsp. garam masala (powder)
- 1 Tbsp. kasoori methi (dried methi leaves)
- salt (to taste)
- coriander leaves (for garnish, optional)
