- 2 cups basmati rice (uncooked)
- 2 1/4 cups water
- 2 tsp. fenugreek seeds
- 4 red chillies
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 1 cup shredded coconut (fresh, I use frozen)
- mango (Any bits of, that you could not grate)
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 2 tsp. mustard seeds
- 1 Tbsp. dhal (channa)
- 1 Tbsp. dhal (urad)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 15 curry leaves
- 3/4 cup peanuts (small, available in Indian stores)
- salt (to taste)
