- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 cup milk (warm, 105-110 degrees F)
- rapid rise yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons instant)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 large eggs
- instant oats (2/3 cup old-fashioned, not)
- 7 oz. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. ground black pepper (freshly, I used 1/4 teaspoon)
- 1 Tbsp. salt (I used 1 1/2 teaspoons)
- 15 oz. all-purpose flour
- oil (for greasing the bowl)
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. seeds (mixed, poppy, sesame, etc.)
- coarse salt (for sprinkling)
