This was so good and filling. When it says a pinch of cayenne, it really does mean a pinch. I am adding this to my monthly roation of recipes

Best red lentil recipe I have found.
I have made this soup many times now and keep making it adding extra brasicas, or spices to spice it up a bit
Thank you

This soup is amazing! I added celery, fresh mushrooms, red pepper, 1/2 a teaspoon each of cumin & coriander, white wine & orange zest to make the flavors pop. I didn't have red lentils so I used green ones instead; it was done after about 1/2 hour. I served the soup on top of roasted sweet potatoes along with a roasted vegetable salad. Perfect! Will make this again for sure!

So good! I’ve made this recipe about three times now, and each time I’m wowed. It’s hearty but still light, and goes well with naan or flatbread for dipping. Highly recommend!

I cooked lentil soup before, but this receipe is the best so far. The ginger and the other recommended condiments give a nice flavor. I will definitely make it again

Yum! I had fresh turnips so added that. It is a fabulous base to which you can add almost anything...in my case, lots of veggies. SO loved it too. Note from another batch: lots of carrots, goat cheese and roasted VA peanuts!

DELICIOUS! Perfect and simple. I think even adding a little spinach or putting over rice with some roast lamb or lamb meatballs, or eating with a thick, crusty bread. You can’t go wrong with this.

This was spicy, hearty, and delicious. I followed the recipe to a tee except I upped the spices a little bit like I always do. The fresh cilantro and lime juice are what really tied this together in the end. My family loved it.

Straight forward easy to make. Not super popular with the family. Although I like the flavor and amount of effort it takes to make.

The soup turned out really well. Brought back memories of dishes in Morocco. Easy to make when you have all the spices. I had none of the fresh, but it was still tasty.

Turned very good! I added a bit more Cayenne for more of a kick, but it wasn’t needed. I will definitely make it again!

It turned out awesome!! I was worried for my husband who doesn’t like really spicy food but it is just nicely spicy :) The others were right! This is 5 star!

Great recipe, I used some different spices (celery salt, coriander, cumin) & added a jalapeno & red bell pepper. My husband said Make it again, so... success!

Loved it. It so sooooo full of taste 😍😍.
I used green lentils and simmered for longer.
I had to add more water as it kept becoming thick.
Will make again! 😍

This is the 3rd time that I am cooking this recipe and we love it. In the past I have cooked the Moroccan Harira which uses lamb, the flavor is so close to it without the meat and I do not even miss it! 5 stars!

Loved it - easy to make, very few ingredients. I added spinach and parsnips (was cleaning out the fridge).

I thought this soup was absolutely delicious. Definitely thought the cinnamon was an odd ingredient but the taste fits right in. I will try it without cinnamon next time since my nose was quite sensitive to the smell. Paired with some sourdough bread and salad. Was a great hit with the husband!

This soup turned out soooo great. I really loved the spice. At the last minute my hubby thought it might need a meat and i had leftover chicken in the fridge so i chunked some up and tossed it in the bottom of the bowls then ladled the soup on top. This dish is definitely company worthy.
