Without calling for spices, i thought this meal may be lacking in flavor. NOPE! The combination of shallots, olives, pine nuts, and fennel packs an intense flavor explosion. I made this exactly as called for. It was quite watery with the tomatoes, which I was concerned about, but we sopped up the juices with crusty French bread. The juices absorbed into the ingredients as it sat in the fridge so leftovers tasted amazing. My husband said it reminded him of dishes he experienced in Turkey. Def a regular meal in our home.
