- 1 Flax egg (whisk 1 tablespoon ground flax plus 2.5 tablespoons of water - put in refrigerator for 10 minutes or longer to thicken)
- 1/3 cup vegetable broth (for sautéing)
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, or more to taste)
- 1/4 fresh basil (chopped, or more to taste)
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- fresh ground black pepper
- red pepper flakes (a light sprinkling of, optional)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 shallot (small, chopped)
- 1 meatball (uncooked vegan)
- 1/3 cup vegetable broth (for sautéing, additional ½ to 1 cup or more for gravy)
- 2 Tbsp. fresh dill (chopped)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. vegan sour cream (optional)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. tamari soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
