I read the reviews for this recipe, and so I omitted the cool whip. It was a huge hit, & has been requested by my family ever since!

I have made this recipe now at least 20 times! It is requested at most get togethers and birthdays now! Thank you so much for sharing!

Tasted great a little thin because of the cool whip, which I won’t add that to the pudding next time. However, I did 8oz of cream cheese instead of sour cream bc that was what I had in the fridge. Made it for a neighbors birthday and they absolutely loved it. I also did two boxes of French vanilla pudding with one box of banana pudding.

It was good. My husband liked it. I think the addition of the 8 oz of sour cream was a good idea. However, next time I won’t stir any of the whipped topping into the pudding because it made it thinner than I like. I’ll just layer it with the wafers and banana slices.

This is delicious! I used bananas that were just starting to get spots I tossed them in the lemon juice mixture as recommended and they haven’t turned brown. I will definitely be making this again!

My mom used to make this all the time and I loved it as a child. I wasn’t sure about using the sour cream but it really balances out the sweetness. Great recipe will make this again!

AMAZING!!! I followed all the ingredients except I did do one box of banana cream I thought it was pretty delicious I was wondering if the whisk was like set in stone or could you use your mixer? I used the whisk cuz it said to and I didn't know if it would make a difference.

Perfect. I used all the sour cream listed in the recipe. I don’t know why people are so afraid to use it, it’s for added richness and is used in many baking recipes. Otherwise it would have been too light and sugary. This was the best banana pudding I’ve ever had and it was my first time making it!

Delicious recipe! It was a hit with the family. I followed the other comment with using 2boxes vanilla and 1 box of banana pudding. I also added the sour cream gradually ( scoop at a time ) and tasted in between until I felt it was ready. The result was I almost used the entire 16 oz container, as I didn’t want it overly sweet. Although it sounds off the sour cream definitely smooths out the flavor of the pudding, but I feel adding a little at a time is safe to make it to preference . Overall a great recipe one I will be using again.

Fantastic! Used one box of banana pudding with 2 french vanilla. Add the sour cream! It may sound off putting but it balances the flavor so it's not overly sweet.

It was really good but a little thinner than I would have liked. Maybe less milk or setting longer would help. Very easy to make!

I love this recipe!!! I use 2 boxes of vanilla pudding and 1 box of banana cream pudding to make it a little more bananas.

Perfect, but where did the sour cream figure in to the mix. I did not add it and it turned out very nice. I used oven top pudding instead of instant of course it turned out thicker and I used a box and a half of wafers. This was truely a hit on the fourth. God bless the USA!

Simple yet delicious!
Made it for my family for first time yesterday and everyone loved it! I was skeptical about the sour cream so I opted against using it and it turned out delicious!!!

I’ve made this like 4 times for my husband. The first time I followed the recipe exact but the next time I made it I forgot to make the pudding in a separate bowl to layer, honestly I prefer it this way it takes away from the appearance but I think it helps the flavors mix better. Just make your pudding in a big bowl then alternate between bananas and wafers, stirring in between. I top mine with spray whipped cream though if you’re taking this to a party I would add the spray whipped cream right before you serve as if it’s left in the fridge it will deflate. I’ve never been one for banana pudding but it’s my husband’s favorite and after making this, one of mine too

Really good. Not too sweet. I used half and half for 2 of the cups of milk. It is very tasty.
