- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided, part-skim or whole milk)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder

We loved this! I forgot to make it ahead, DOH! You need at least 8 hours. I could have cooked the shells and proceeded but what’s the point in that? So we had it the next day. I did add a homemade basil/garlic/olive oil slurry that I make with homegrown basil. 2 tablespoons/3 cups of sauce in the recipe. It’s like pesto without the cheese and pine nuts. It makes it more user friendly. I freezer it in ice cube trays. If I want to use it as pesto I add 1 tablespoon each of pine nuts and parmigiana reggiano to each ice cube. It was beautiful.
