- 1 cup brown lentils (cleaned, washed and soaked for 1 hour)
- 1 Tbsp. cumin powder
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- salt (to taste)
- greek yogurt (beaten until runny)
- sumac (optional, can be substituted with Paprika)
- parsley (for garnish, optional)
- 2 tea bags (Black, *, optional, see note below)
- 2 onions (large, **, sweet/yellow onions for caramelization)

This turned out very well. I did substitute brown basmati rice for the bulgar because that is what I had on hand, which required additional cooking time. But, the flavor and texture was still very good. I served this as a side dish with dinner, and, the next day ate the leftovers as a meal, Thank you for sharing this recipe.
