These turned out great. I used two sticks of butter, omitted the shortening. We used mini m&ms so added about 1/4 c. more than what recipe called for. We also used a 1/2 tbsp. to drop them as we wanted a small snack-size. My 7-year-old helped make them. His review: "These are the best cookies that I've ever made! They were so easy that I almost made them all by myself."
