- 1/2 tsp. salt

- 3 lemons (– both juice and zest)
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. butter (or margarine)
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (mixed with enough water to make it a liquid)
- 6 egg whites (I used the 4 whites from eggs, above, and 6 tbsp. extra egg whites from a carton)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
