Description

I love spicy Louisiana style dirty rice also know as rice dressing. You can make it as spicy as you like by adding cayenne pepper if your Creole seasoning is not spicy enough. My recipe call for ground turkey however I have made it vegetarian ground meatless crumbles as well.

Ingredients

  • 3 ribs (Celery- diced)
  • 1 onion (medium, diced)
  • 1 bell pepper (large, diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (diced)
  • 3 cups rice (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 5 tablespoons Creole seasoning (Cajun/)
  • 3 teaspoons chicken bouillon
  • 5 cups water
  • olive oil
  • green onions (Diced, options)

    Directions

    1. In a little olive oil, brown the ground turkey and lightly season and then set aside
    2. In a little olive oil, brown the rice and then add the Cajun seasoning & bouillon
    3. Sautee vegetables
    4. In a pot combine the meat, rice, veggies and 5 cups of water Bring to boil and then lower to medium heat for 15 minutes, stir occasionally
    5. Add diced green onions and serve.
