I did modify the recipe. I didn't have time to process the jalapeño; so I used the jalapeño juice. Keeping the same ingredients I used 2 tsps. of pickled jalapeño juice. Very nice.
Have tried copying a spicy Manhattan made by our local favorite dining place. They use anise, cinnamon, clove, and orange peel. Very good. To come closer I used simple syrup & it helped. My bourbon was Woodbridge reserve..
