- ground black pepper

- 2 garlic cloves (peeled and finely chopped)

- 2 jalapeños (seeded and chopped, I used jalapeños as a substitute for red chiles because they did not have red chiles at the store)

- 1 Tbsp. fish sauce
- 1 lime (juice of 1/3)
- 3 green onions (trimmed and chopped)
- 2 lettuces (little Boston, separated into leaves, to serve)
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 lime
- 1 tsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 jalapeño (thinly sliced)
- 1 bunch cilantro leaves (chopped)
- 2 tsp. fish sauce (to taste)
- 1 tsp. light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
