Great base from which to experiment! i added more tomato paste, Italian seasoning, liquid aminos, and balsamic vinegar, and it worked out well!

Did I not use diced tomatoes, only tomato paste & water. Nice & thick sauce. Need double the garlic. Cooked in crock pot. Will make again.

Made it with chicken sausage that I had on hand. It was super easy and a big hit!

I used a mix of sweet and hot sausages and left out the tomato paste. I had it with garlic toasts. It was a hit!
