My family didn't care for this recipe. The sauce just didn't have enough flavor, even with heaping amounts of the spices called for. It still just tasted like tomato sauce. I only had no salt added tomato sauce, so that could have contributed to the blandness. It might have been more flavorful if it used pasta sauce instead of plain tomato sauce. It was fast and easy to make, but requires too much tweaking to try again for my family.
