This turns out terrific every time. It is requested by our son who is very particular. The gravy is very tasty. I have done it with lemon and stuffing. Both good options.

The flavour was good. I like the idea of putting the onion and lemon in the cavity. I used the meat setting instead of manual for a 3+ lb chicken and set it to 21 minutes, but should have gone with the 24 as it wasn't quite done all the way. Thanks for sharing.

Used a 5 lb fresh chicken. 30 mins after some sautéing and stuffed the chicken with onion and garlic. I used an 8 qt instant pot so there were 2 cups of broth. I did not release after 15 minutes. Just went back to it eventually. Used the stock to make Jasmine rice. Delicious. I think 5 minutes per lb is better though

horribly dry.
decided to try this vs my usual roasting method.
Brined the chicken for 12 hours, used 4 minutes per (dry) pound and meat fell off the bone but was like salty chalk. so dry. Brining nd pressure cooking should not lead to ddark meat turning to dust in your moutb.
Maybe try it at 3 minutes or less per pound.I wont be wasting another bird to try

Very tasty I had a 6 pond chicken so set the time to 42 minutes it probably could have used 5 more, but meat was tender and juicy.

This was one of the first things I made in my new instant pot. I thought it was good, but a little dry. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the recipe but any suggestions on how to make it a little more juicy?

Made with a preseasoned chicken, so mostly it was just timing I was using. Didn't sear it first. Had a pot of wild rice precariously balanced on my chicken which was a bit over 3 lbs. Cooked for 20 min and it was done well, but not quite fall off the bone. Maybe with PIP method another minute or two would make a huge difference. I'll try that next time.

Great taste, little over cooked, next time I will cook for 25 minutes and then use natural release

I would have given a five star rating for this, but there is always room for improvement. The recipe was very easy to follow, turning the chicken inside the pot was a challenge, but doable. Will make this again but will cut back on the spices, they were a bit to much. Very tasty, and almost fall off the bone tender, maybe an extra minute or two next time.

Very easy to follow recipe. I used the bones to make an excellent bone broth

Chicken was super moist with goof flavor, but fell apart when I lifted it out of the Instant Pot. I will definitely try it again.

It was amazing and so easy I’ve done whole chickens in the Instant pot air fryer but I think this is better and easier

Amazing! This is my second time making this. After my family ate all the chicken, we made bone broth with the carcass. A whole chicken yields so many options. This time I added carrots and celery at the bottom for extra yummies.

I did cut up my chicken, because I have a small instant pot, but ooooo it was so tender and juicy, and so fast to cook! I will never roast a chicken again.

Perfect and juicy every time. I modify the seasoning from time to time; but I reference this recipe everytime I make a whole chicken in the instant pot.
