- 1 small yellow onion (chopped)
- 1 lb. ground sausage (Italian, such as Jimmy Dean, or a bulk ground sausage)
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (or 1/2 tsp for spicier)
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
- 34 oz. gnocchi (found in the pasta aisle use 1 pkg for a saucier result, 2 pkgs for more servings and less saucy)
- 2 cups pasta sauce (I use my homemade Instant Pot Marinara)
- fresh basil leaves
- Parmesan cheese
