Love love love this recipe! I have made it at least 3 times now — making it now in fact. I’m not a fan of chili powder in anything Mexican so I leave that out but it’s so good even without it. I’ve added a jalapeño to the instant pot this time for a bit of fire and I expect good things! Will let you know how it turns out! ☺️
UPDATE: Oh my goodness, the beans were even better with the jalapeño cooked inside! I doubled the recipe and added a whole jalapeño. So yummy!! And not as spicy as I thought it would be.

Tastes good, you can tell it’s missing the lard. However, it is a great healthy substitute.

It is ok but next time I will add some broth and maybe some type of oil/ or bacon grease...
