- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 can cream of chicken soup (/box, I prefer Pacific Foods brand)
- 8 russet potatoes (medium sized, peeled and chopped into 1 inch cubes, about 2.5 pounds of potatoes)
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt (or more/less to taste)
- black pepper (to taste,, I like a lot of pepper)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I use sharp cheddar)
- 6 slices bacon (cooked and chopped)

This the best potato soup recipe i have found. i enjoy cooking it mainly because my husband brags so much about it.

This soup is soo delicious! Perfectly cooks the potatoes. Used a little more flour so it turned out more like a chowder. Next time, I’ll use only the 1 tablespoon of flour in the slurry!
