I’ve tried a few different buttered rum recipes from various authorities on the topic, but I find this recipe to be the best. The spices are well-balanced and softened perfectly in bite by the butter. The salt makes the recipe! For the rum, I used Myers’s Original Dark. I did 2 shots of rum plus 2 tablespoons butter mix plus 1/2 cup hot water. Next time I will cut back the rum just a touch, but that is due to the rum brand and its flavor.
