Good, but a bit too spicy for my guests. Next time I’ll reduce the amount of chipotle. I also used fresh onions and garlic and add coca powder

Delicious recipe. I always wind up doctoring a recipe. So, I did add some cocoa powder. It was wonderful and my family loved it too

I’ll NEVER buy the canned stuff again! This was too easy and very good. I used 1/3 in my enchilada casserole and froze the rest for another Fiesta Friday meal. This was not spicy at all to me so I’ll add another chipotle pepper next time.

Great taste, had to drop the chili powder down to three tablespoons for the kids but I would like to add an additional one or two.

Delicious! Doubled the cumin and oregano, added 1tsp of ground coriander. Didn't have tomato sauce so swapped out for 2 cans of tomato paste and a little extra broth.

This sauce is the best red sauce ever!! The flavor is excellent. Next time, I will try two chipotle pepper + 2Tbsp of adobo sauce just to give it a bit of a kick.

Ok, so I did it wrong and added the adobe mixture in with all the spices, let it boil down to correct my error and then added the tomato sauce. So simple and so easy. I’m almost mad about how easy this was... made at least 32oz.

Used suggestion to just use tomato paste instead of flour: I agree that makes this even easier. Great recipe both ways.

Excellent and super easy by using tomato paste, which eliminates the need for the olive oil/flour step. Also reduced the broth to 2- 2 1/2c., chili powder to 2T and salt to 1/2t. Super quick too!

This is a very good “go to” sauce. I make it in large batches and freeze it. The chipotles add a nice smoked flavor. I use it for a Yummly recipe- smothered enchiladas- great combo!

It turned out great. It had great flavor and spice. Wouldn’t change a thing. Will definitely be making it again

I completely left the salt out due to health conditions and it tasted fabulous. Everyone should make this sauce.

Perfect, I'll never buy sauce again. I like the adobo peppers and sauce. You can make as hot as you want. I thought it might be too hot but when I put some on cooked chicken pcs I had it really needed more heat for our tastes. Very easy to make, and not a lot of time to cook, but well worth it. If you're going to the trouble to make enchiladas, make the sauce too. You won't be disappointed.

Turned out great! I didn't have the peppers, so I used Cayenne powder and some liquid smoke, instead.
Also, I used fresh minced garlic instead of powder and heated it with the oil before adding the flour.
One other addition I made was Turmeric, which I put in ALL of my spice dishes.
Texture was great! Very easy to make. Since I didn't use the Chipotle, I didn't need to use the blender.

My first time making homemade sauce. My popo can not stand the one in the can, so when I downloaded YUM I decided to see if they had a recipe for me and GUYS! This was sooo good w. a little added seasonings of my choice. (1/2tsp of sea salt, 1tsp cumin, and +1tbs onion powder, & 1/2tsp chili powder) I removed all spice because I can't hang like that an neither can my kiddos. No hate though, this sauce was good! Even my picky eaters chowed down for seconds!

The best red enchilada sauce ever. I make a double batch and freeze some and give some to coworkers. They’re always very happy to get it. I also add a couple of packets of Sazon Goya con Culantro y Achiotte (coriander and Annatto) plus a bit of savory (MSG, really it’s not bad for you unless you have an actually rather rare allergy). And we use it for practically everything!

My family loves this sauce! I've made it twice. It makes enough for 2 batches of chicken enchiladas. I left out the 1 tbsp of adobo sauce. The 1 chipotle pepper is spicy enough. The leftover sauce freezes great too.
