These tasted nothing like the store bought variety and the comparison should not be made. That was the whole reason I chose this recipe! The glaze barely had any orange flavor. I added more zest and used freshly squeezed juice trying find a good balance but no luck so the overall orange flavor was disappointing. If I make this again I might try changing the glaze into more of an icing and use cream cheese to hopefully enhance some flavor. The aim in making something yourself is to avoid the preservatives and artificial flavors from pre packed foods so I understand that getting the same level of flavor naturally will be more difficult.
