My advice: Skip the oil and get a quality tortilla press.
The press makes it much easier to get the thickness and consistency needed. Use wax paper with the press; remove top sheet, place the tortilla on a dry hand and peel off the bottom layer of the paper.
I tried the rolling pin with plastic bag & with wax paper. Press is what makes it quick and easy.
