Description
Small chunks of orange along with orange and lemon zest give bright, fresh flavor to traditional cranberry sauce. You can make this several days ahead if you like — it keeps well in the refrigerator for a week. The recipe is a Yummly original created by David Bonom.

Directions
- Finely grate 1 tsp. orange zest and 1 tsp. lemon zest. Put in a small bowl. Save rest of lemon for other uses.
- Cut rind and outer white membrane from oranges, following the curve of the fruit. Cut between inner membranes to remove orange segments. Cut each segment into thirds and transfer to bowl with citrus zest.
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook until all cranberries have popped and mixture thickens slightly, 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in orange segments and citrus zest. Cool cranberry sauce to room temperature.
- Chill sauce at least 3 hours before serving to thicken.

Really delicious; zero complaints on this recipe! The orange really adds complexity to this bright, tasty side dish! We served it very cold. So good!

Absolutely delightful! Love the tartness of the cranberries and the flavor of the citrus! I added pecans just because we like it that way.

Sooooo easy and taste better. Kids who don’t typically like cranberry sauce even dived in! Need to double the recipe next year 🥰

Taste absolutely delicious. Much better than your canned artificial flavored sauce. The citrus is a nice little touch

I'm sure this citrus cranberry sauce in yummy. I make a non-cooked similar version that was handed down to me from my sister-in-law many years ago and it always gets rave reviews. I have substituted Splenda for the sugar and it is just as good only without the extra calories. It is simply cranberries and orange including the zest, chopped plus the sweetener of your choice all stirred up. That is it! It too can be made ahead of time and keeps well in the fridge.
