- 1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight, or one can drained and rinsed)
- 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. harissa (more to taste)
- 1 qt. stock (good)
- 1 cup barley (uncooked)
- kosher salt
- fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- honey (to garnish, optional)

The sweet potato added amazing flavor. I love how hearty it is and very filling. I didnt have harissa so I used pasta sauce. This would be nutricious for someone who is sick.
